Garlicky Green Beans



  • 1 Lb Green Beans, trimmed
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 4-6 cloves of garlic, minced
  • Salt, pepper
  • Red Chili flakes (optional)


  1. Bring 5 cups of water to a rolling boil in a 2 qt pot
  2. Blanche the green beans by placing them in the boiling water for 3-5 minutes (depending on thickness).
  3. Drain the green beans and quickly rinse in very cold water to halt the cooking process
  4. Heat olive oil in a sautée pan. Add beans, garlic salt, and red pepper flakes (if desired), covering the beans in oil. Cook for 2-5 minutes until beans are warmed through but not yet wilted


  • Purchased pre-trimmed beans to save time trimming
